As the bookkeeper, you will be responsible for entering financial transactions into QuickBooks, such as processing incoming payments and invoices, bank deposits and checks. You will also report to and support the Finance manager with monthly account reconciliations, maintaining accurate and organized financial records, and assisting with the annual independent audit and 990 tax preparation.
This is a position for someone who has at least two years experience and is extremely detail-oriented and interested in how a non-profit organization operates. The guiding principle of the work is clean, consistent data entry so we can track the financial success and needs of our rapidly expanding programming. Applicants should be very organized and have an interest in creating, managing, and streamlining systems to help keep this lively, vibrant operation running smoothly.
Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel is required along with familiarity or experience with QuickBooks or any other bookkeeping programs.
The position will also oversee basic office management including office supply orders and monitoring inventory for the office. The position will also be responsible for the office’s systems maintenance (phone systems, photocopier, etc), including the negotiation and renewal of associated contracts.
